A lot of women see fitness as an all-or-nothing game. This false belief held me back for years.
Like many women, I thought to get results, I had to be 100% consistent. So I’d yo-yo between going all-in for a few months, and then I’d slip a little, get discouraged, and completely give up.
The good news is that getting in shape does NOT require 100% consistency. Or even 95%
In fact, if a woman goes from being 0-50% consistent, and she bumps that up to being 80-90% consistent, she can make an incredible transformation that she can MAINTAIN.
And, in most cases, she’s actually better off to be 80-90% consistent than she is 100% consistent because most of us are unable to maintain 100% consistency for more than a few months.
If we believe 100% is what’s required, when slip a little and fail to maintain our nutrition or workout program at 100%, we tend to give up altogether.
So, unless you’re a natural-born discipline machine wired for perfection and plan to compete in an upcoming figure competition, forget about being 100% consistent.
Instead, strive for something practical that you can stick with for the long-haul.
And I have no doubt you can stick with 80-90% consistency.
That’s one of the keys to maintaining a transformation long-term.
Because the other way—the starve yourself and workout like a madwoman, pushing yourself to the limit every day—does NOT work for most women.
80-90%, on the other hand, WILL work. It’s practical, doable, and a LOT easier to maintain than going “all in.”
